Pregnancy

Receiving pregnancy massage is often a woman’s favorite part of prenatal care…

Pregnancy massage isn’t just for feeling amazing and nurtured, though it definitely does that! It also supports health of mother and baby during this time in so many ways. Here are just some of the benefits:

  • Improves circulation and lymphatic drainage

  • Eases common discomforts, aches and pains (back, hip, headaches)

  • Reduces stress, anxiety, and depression

  • Releases endorphins that support mental well-being

  • Some studies show that massage during pregnancy leads to better labor outcomes! (shorter labors, less need for medication, lower rates of preterm birth and low birth weight)

Sessions are individualized to women and their current needs along the span of pregnancy. I use a professional pregnancy cushioning system for optimal support and comfort, along with pillows, so you can either be side-lying or safely lie face down if desired (generally women like to be sidelying around halfway through).

Generally a good schedule for prenatal massage along with the rest of your care, is to receive twice per month.
